"...Fix your thoughts on what is true & good & right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, & dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for & be glad about." Philippians 4:8

We all need an extra dose of motivation & encouragement from time to time. Here you will find some of Jessi's favorite sources of encouragement - music, devotionals, teachings, & more - including some encouraging words from Jessi.
"Expectation is the womb that will carry your manifestation." - Rev. Osbert E.
Stark Beauty's mission is to disciple women by teaching them their identity in Christ. They desire to see women reach their full potential and say to the next generation, "Follow me as I follow Christ." Subscribe to the blog to receive devotionals straight to your inbox Monday through Friday.
"Don't let your background put your back on the ground." - Frank Edwards
Did you know that EVERY single word we speak vibrates through each nerve and cell of our bodies? The average human body has about 37.2 trillion cells!
Quit saying, "I'm so tired." Quit saying, "I'm always getting sick." Quit saying, "I'm always broke." Quit saying, "Nothing good ever happens to me." Quit saying, "I can never keep a job." Quit saying, "I am so stressed out." Quit saying, "This is killing me." Unless you want those things to actually happen... There is LITERALLY the power of life and death in our words. (Prov. 18:21)

"If God has taken the time to design each snowflake, how much more time has He put into the little details of our lives. This is a reason to rejoice, because we can be confident that our tomorrows are not left up to chance." - Jessi Hughes
In 2016, Jessi was blessed with the opportunity to connect with 2 wonderful organizations that are making a big difference - Mandi's Makings and The Loved Bible Project. Mandi’s Makings helps bring awareness to human trafficking, works with shelters/organizations around the world to provide gifts for those rescued, & also assists in building businesses for survivors as part of their healing process. The Loved Bible Project provides loved on & prayed over Bibles to the homeless. Jessi was honored to serve as a writer on their project to reach men and women with a 14-day devotional to help assist in their process of healing. The devotional was printed out & included with a gift to them of a donated Bible. Below is my contribution called “I Have Peace" (day 3).
"The ocean is one of my favorite places. I love the smell of the salty air, the feel of the sand beneath my feet, the color of the water, and the soothing sound of the waves. When I lived in Chicago, I missed the ocean despite nearby Lake Michigan being so big that it looked like an ocean. I would try to convince myself that I was by the ocean, but it was never the same.
Similarly, there are things that look like they bring peace – relationships, money, a good job, a house, going to church, etc. True peace only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ though. Jesus is the only way we can access the Father, because on the cross He bore our sins that separated us from God.
Many songs compare peace to a river, which the Webster dictionary defines as “a large natural flow of water that crosses an area of land and goes into an ocean…” Jesus is our river – our Living Water that flows and connects us to God and unites us as one body of believers. Take hold of real peace today – it is the irreplaceable, priceless, gift of God’s love." Romans 5:1 Galatians 3:28 Matthew 6:25-27
